Working with industry

This NEST webinar aims to address all things linking academia and industry. How do I, as an ECR, establish a healthy working relationship with an industry partner? What are the key things that industry are looking for within such a relationship? How about funding; what funding avenues are available for me for industry-based projects? These questions, along with any others you may have regarding academia/industry relationships, will be addressed within this webinar, all the while keeping the ECP perspective in mind.

Our two speakers, Dr Dean Miller and Dr Gemma Paech, have successfully transitioned to industry. Hence, they have a strong grasp on how modern academia and industry work, and have valuable insights to share regarding all things linking the two. Hear about their stories regarding their transitions, and their lessons learnt along the way!

What are the 2-3 key points that the audience will take away after attending this webinar?

Key do’s and don'ts when establishing and maintaining a working relationship with an industry partner as an academic.

  • Industry-based funding pathways available to academics performing research with an industry body
  • Paths previously travelled from speakers who have transitioned from academia to industry.
