Aim of award

To support an early career researcher from the Australasian Sleep Association (ASA) to attend and present their work at the Chinese Sleep Research Society (CSRS) meeting 25 - 27 October 2019 in Jinan City, China.

CSRS will be responsible for covering the airfare and expenses for the ASA nominee to attend the Chinese meeting. (ASA will fund a Chinese early career researcher to attend Sleep DownUnder 2019)

Award criteria

  • Willing and available to present an oral presentation at the Chinese Sleep Research Society (CSRS) meeting, Jinan, China 25 - 27 October 2019 
  •  Early Career Researcher <5 years since Post Graduate qualification (PhD, Masters or Advanced Training)
  • Current ASA member

Applicants to submit:

  • Completed application form that includes a brief statement on how attending the CSRS meeting is likely to enhance your career in sleep health/sleep science and/or facilitate future collaboration opportunities 
  •  250-word abstract (can be the same as one submitted for the ASA meeting or any other recent meeting)
  • Brief CV (no more than 3-pages)

The ASA research committee will review the applications and select recipients based on:

  1. Quality of the abstract to be presented at the meeting (40%) 
  2.  Track record relative to opportunity from brief CV including previous presentation experience (40%)
  3. Applicant statement outlining how attending the CSRS meeting would enhance their career in sleep health/sleep science/future collaboration opportunities (20%)
