Notice on COVID-19 risk

17 March 2020: The Australasian Sleep Association is closely monitoring circumstances in relation to COVID-19 as they unfold. The safety of our members, their patients and the community is the highest priority for us, and we will take whatever decisions are necessary in relation to Sleep DownUnder 2020 put safety first. We will post further information as soon as possible.

On behalf of the Organising Committee we take great pleasure in inviting you to the 32nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian Sleep Association (ASA) and Australian and New Zealand Sleep Science Association (ANZSSA), at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, QLD.

From 18 - 24 October 2020 Brisbane will become a hub for sleep medicine and sleep science with the International Surgical Sleep Society Meeting (ISSS) and the International Paediatric Sleep Association's Annual Congress (IPSA) running alongside Sleep DownUnder 2020 and Dental Sleep Medicine 2020

Expert sleep clinicians and scientists from Australia and New Zealand will be joined by international speakers to share the latest advancements and innovations in the world of sleep research and clinical practice.

Jean-Louis Pépin

Professor, Clinical Physiology
Université Grenoble Alpes

Jean-Louis Pépin, is Professor of Clinical Physiology at UGA. He is head of the Clinic of Physiology, Sleep and Exercise at Grenoble University hospital. He is director of the HP2 Laboratory (Inserm U1042, UGA: Hypoxia Pathophysiology), vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in charge of research and scientific director of clinical research at CHUGA. He will hold the UGA Chair of Excellence in e-health and integrated care and the Artificial intelligence Chair “Trajectories Medicine” (2018-2021).

Michael L. Perlis
Director, Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program
University of Pennsylvania 

Michael L. Perlis is internationally known for his work in the area of Behavioral Sleep Medicine (BSM). He is a coauthor of the first text book in this field and he is the senior author of a published CBT-I treatment manual and a larger text summarizing all BSM treatments. In addition, he conducts two annual CBT-I training workshops per year (the basic workshop has been ongoing for the last 10 years and the advanced workshop was first offered in 2014), has available a video mock case vignette DVD, and offers mini-fellowship BSM practica and supervision through his group at Penn.
