RACGP newsGP promotes the ASA Commonwealth Grant
31 October 2022
from Alex Sweetman
The RACGP recently published a newsGP article informing its members of the Australasian Sleep Association Commonwealth grant activities, and GP resources developed by the National Centre for Sleep Health Services Research CRE. A key aim of the Health Peak and Advisory Bodies grant is to work with Australian primary care professional societies to increase use of evidence-based sleep disorder resources by GPs, psychologists and practice nurses.
The article outlines several recent and upcoming GP education opportunities, including the new online GP Obstructive Sleep Apnoea and Insomnia Guideline, updated GPlearning education modules on insomnia and obstructive sleep apnoea, a free insomnia webinar presented to the RACGP’s Psychological Medicine specific interest group, and an upcoming sleep health presentation at GP22.
To facilitate the translation of evidence into practice, we are developing a Primary Care Sleep Health Implementation Network. This network will link primary care clinicians with ASA members who have an interest in primary care implementation research. Any ASA members with an interest in primary care implementation are encouraged to register and become involved here.
