  • Advances in sleep and memory
There have been many new developments in the field of sleep and memory recently with new mechanisms proposed. This webinar recording will explore two of the more promising approaches to investigating the formation and consolidation of memories during sleep from a practical standpoint
  • Cases in dental sleep medicine
This webinar recording presents a range of cases and walk-through the process: from the very first visit with the patient, through to troubleshooting more difficult cases.
Presentations from Dr Anum Khan, Dr Sam Talpis and Dr Andrew Gikas.
  • Why do a year of sleep medicine training?
Sleep medicine training is often not offered until the final year of advanced training. It can be hard to know if sleep training will be worthwhile, what it involves and the role sleep medicine may play in your future career. This webinar recorded on 6 April 2022 integrates experience from sleep medicine trainees and experienced clinicians on how sleep medicine has influenced their careers. Speakers: Belinda Miller, Ai-Ming Wong, Lachlan Stranks, Monica Hatch, Nathan Hayward
  • Sleep health of First Australians: what we know and where to from here
This webinar held on 2 March 2022 presented the findings from the first comprehensive review of Indigenous sleep health undertaken in Australia. Findings suggest that Indigenous Australians suffer poor sleep at increased levels compared to non-Indigenous Australians, including higher rates of snoring, sleep apnoea, short sleep, and symptoms of insomnia.
  • Fellow of Dental Sleep Medicine program
The Fellow of Dental Sleep Medicine (FDSM) program certifies minimum competencies in the practice of dental sleep medicine. Admission is restricted to registered dentists in Australia or New Zealand who are also ASA members.

Bench-side to bedside: translational science success stories from respiratory and sleep physicians

This webinar is aimed to inspire and disseminate understanding the importance of translational research in respiratory and sleep clinical practice.

Translational science is the step away from treatment reaching to patients. Join our speakers  Prof Ron Grunstein and Prof Dan Chambers who will demonstrate their own translational examples in practice where bench-side has come to the rescue in critical bed-side patients. It will also act as ground for inspiration to young physicians (or ECRs) who feel they are confined to one side of the coin, and think it is hard to trek the course of both practice and research. On the contrary, speakers will showcase having conquered both sides of the coin.

When: 14 July 2022 4:00 PM AEST
