Research awards closing soon 

Applications for the following research awards close Friday 30 June 2023

  • Helen Bearpark Scholarship
    This scholarship is to facilitate international travel and exchange in order to develop skills in sleep research or clinical sleep medicine. Applicant must be a member of ASA or ANZSSA.
  • Nick Antic Career Development Award 
    This award is intended to assist an ASA member to develop experience or knowledge to support their development as a leader in the field of sleep.

Applications must be submitted online via the ASA website.

The successful applicants will be announced at the annual scientific conference, Sleep DownUnder 2023 in Adelaide 8-11 November.

Several new projects are getting started under the umbrella of the ASA’s Clinical Committee. We need members with a broad range of skills and expertise to contribute to each of these working groups:

  • Provision of CPAP therapy
  • Insomnia guidelines

Support for people with narcolepsy and IH 

Hypersomnolence Australia helps support individuals living with idiopathic hypersomnia (IH) and narcolepsy through their community support groups. The groups are facilitated by experienced members of the Hypersomnolence Australia team and are designed to reduce social isolation and to provide support and information for people living with IH and Narcolepsy.

Do you have an interest in sharing your knowledge of sleep health with First Nations communities? Do you have an interest in understanding more about First Nations people’s sleep and how this might differ from a non-First Nations view?
