Position Summary
The Sleep and Respiratory Group (SRG) now have room for a further sleep disorders and respiratory physician, for part-time or full-time private practice, based in Brighton, Malvern, and Camberwell, (also Berwick, Albury-Wodonga, Mildura), mainly as outpatient office consulting.  If desired, inpatient respiratory care on a roster can be accommodated. With our waiting times lengthening, there is an opportunity for a capable and enthusiastic physician to join the team, with broad sleep disorders interest (OSA, CSA, CPAP, parasomnias, RLS, insomnia, sleep disturbance from associated disease), and of course from a respiratory physician background. Consulting times can be casual, part-time, or full-time. Sleep disorders accreditation preferable but not mandatory. SRG encompasses private hospital inpatients, private and public sleep laboratory access, home sleep testing, lung function laboratory, a vibrant tele-health component, with opportunity for regional clinics if desired (locations to be discussed). Remuneration is through consulting fees plus reporting fees. SRG is a mature collaborative practice, with a superb problem-solving clinical reputation. Many physicians use SRG as their private practice whilst having a separate public appointment. A special-interest in respiratory medicine would be beneficial (lung oncology, ILD, interventional bronchoscopies, allergy). SRG has long established relationships with ENT surgeons, MAS dentists, and various specialties with sleep disorders are common (cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, et cetera). Thoracic MDT available. SRG is almost entirely run for the benefit of it's doctors.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Consulting: sleep disorders and respiratory medicine.  
• Lung function reporting. 
• Home sleep test reporting.
• In laboratory sleep test reporting. 
• MDT.
• If desired, inpatient respiratory care at a major private hospital.
• If desired, bronchoscopy session.
• Collegiality with other physicians in the practice. 
• Working at your own pace and comfort level to deliver focused and exceptional patient care with an excellent office support staff. 
• There are no targets, KPIs, sales imperatives, dubious referral requirements, underhanded affiliations, corporate alliances.

Skills and Requirements
• 
Respiratory specialisation for Medicare purposes. Mandatory.
• 
Sleep Disorders specialisation for Medicare purposes desired. 
• 
Personal skill set: confidence based on solid education and an inquiring mind. Punctuality. Attention to detail. Appropriate physical presentation. Appropriately articulate. Energy and enthusiasm. English as a first language preferred but not mandatory. Absence of previous disciplinary actions, dismissals, et cetera.
• 
Ongoing self-improvement and education through conferences, research, symposiums et cetera.
• 
Preferences: interest in ILD, allergy, lung oncology, interventional bronchoscopy. Not mandatory.

Salary and Benefits
Remuneration is through consulting fees plus reporting fees. All-inclusive practice: walk in walk out with everything taken care of. Many physicians use SRG as their private practice whilst having a separate public appointment. SRG is almost entirely run for the benefit of it's doctors. Therefore there is a very personal and collegiate working environment for the right candidate. Complete flexibility about consulting times, allowances for outside rostering, holidays.
